Company Statement

March 20, 2020

At Meyenberg our commitment to the health and safety of our employees, customers, and consumers is of utmost importance while we continue to monitor the latest news and information from local government and health officials regarding the Coronavirus (COVID-19).

Food & Employee Safety:

Our internal food safety management system requires our business to always operate under strict food safety standards. This allows us to respond swiftly to situations that pose a heightened risk and Meyenberg has imposed the following safety measures:

  • Minimizing all non-essential business travel.
  • Augmenting our daily cleaning procedures and have educated our employees on best practices recommended by the CDC.
  • All visiting vendors are subject to additional health and safety protocols upon check-in. No walk-in visitors are permitted at this time.
  • Reducing the number of people present in meetings and ensure social distancing.
  • Modifying our PTO policy so that all employees who have been exposed to the virus or present symptoms are able to take the appropriate time off from work to rest and recover.
  • Our safety team is closely monitoring the situation and relays news and information to employees as appropriate. Meyenberg is closely following the recommendations made by our state and federal governments.

High Product Demand:

We are currently experiencing an unprecedented increase in orders for our powdered and evaporated goat milk products – they have more than tripled in the last few weeks. Our team is working tirelessly to respond to the demand and to fulfill orders through additional powdered and evaporated milk production runs. As of today, we have fulfilled all retailer orders for evaporated milk, but unfortunately, we are unable to fulfill all orders for our powdered goat milk. We are using our best judgment to allot the available supply among orders to serve as many consumers as we can.

Powdered and evaporated goat milk products can also be ordered on our website, but by the case only. We are a small company and are currently not able to send individual cans from website orders. We are committed to serve our consumers and will be transparent, keeping you informed on how our supply develops in these challenging times.

Goat Health:

We reached out to a trusted Veterinarian Professor and from the University of California in Davis to inquire about our goats. We learned that COVID-19 cannot be transmitted to goats and cows and that they are not affected in any way by the virus.
