Goat Milk Dog Treats

Goat Milk Dog Treats

  • 3/4 cup Hot Water
  • 1/3 cup margarine
  • 1/2 cup MEYENBERG Powdered Goat Milk
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 3 Cups whole wheat flour
  • 1/4 cup flax seed (optional)
  • garlic powder (optional)

Here is a simple recipe for healthy homemade dog treats using Meyeneberg Powdered Goat Milk.  Use a small cookie cutter, this recipe yields about 4 dozen. If you want to, the biscuits can be cut and then frozen and baked at a later time. They stay fresh in an airtight container for up to 6 months.

In a large bowl pour hot water over margarine.  Stir in powdered goat milk, salt, and egg.  Add flour, 1/2 cup at a time.  Add flax if using.  Knead for a few minutes to form a stiff dough.  Roll to 1/2 inch thickness.  Cut into shapes.  Using a small heart cookie cutter, or any shape without sharp edges is fine. Sprinkle with garlic powder if using.  DO NOT use onion powder as this is toxic to dogs. Bake at 325 degrees for 50 minutes.  They will be quite hard.
